Rachel Lucero: The Sago Show - Lasa and Legacy Screening

The Sago Show: Lasa and Legacy” screening will serve as the premiere for the Lasa and Legacy Docuseries, produced by Rachel Bundoc Lucero and shot by Scott Gonzales Cooper. The series follows Rachel as she highlights stories of Filipino activism and resistance in the San Francisco Bay Area and cooks Filipino food along the way. Join us for the premiere of Lasa and Legacy, with an intimate Q&A session to follow. Refreshments will be served.

Rachel’s project, “Lasa and Legacy: Stories of Filipino-American Activism Told through Food”, is part docuseries, part cooking show. Through this video series, Rachel will highlight the local San Francisco history of Filipino activism, resistance, and community work while also cooking up a favorite Filipino dish. Rachel’s project is inspired by her work with Malaya Movement San Francisco, an organization that works towards democracy, human rights, and sovereignty for Filipinos in the diaspora and in the homeland.
